November is a “2” Universal Month [11 November + 9 (2025) = 20 = 2 + 0 =2] in a “9” Universal Year. “2” is a very movable number, and this is very in line with the astrology for the month, which has many moving parts. All totaled, five planets change signs this month, and four planets retrograde. There is a lot of opportunity in a “2” month, as the energy of the “2” is naturally quite fertile. Three water grand trines further indicate this throughout November. This may feel somewhat out of sorts with the natural energy of November, which is often a time of rest.
The Set Up
We begin the month with the Sun, Mercury, and Mars in Scorpio, Venus in Libra, Jupiter in Cancer, retrograde Saturn and retrograde Neptune in Pisces, and Pluto in Aquarius. As mentioned above, there is some significant planetary movement this month. The Sun and Mars enter Sagittarius. Restrograde Mercury enters Scorpio. Venus enters Scorpio and then Sagittarius.
Additionally, we have four planetary stations this month. Mercury moves into and out of retrograde. Jupiter retrogrades and Saturn stations direct.
The Nitty Gritty
All eyes are on Mercury, Jupiter, and Saturn this month. We can see them as the gears that are turning, moving into and out of retrograde, heightening and accentuating the general vibes of the planets. We should note the three intense water grand trines Mercury will make to Jupiter and Saturn during its retrograde cycle. During October, Mercury trined Jupiter in Cancer and retrograde Saturn in Pisces. In November, retrograde Mercury trines retrograde Jupiter and retrograde Saturn. In December, Mercury trines retrograde Jupiter and Saturn. We can note here that Mercury is moving us through the switch off from a Saturn retrograde into a Jupiter retrograde.
We should consider this relatively lucky. Mercury is the ultimate guide to retrograde journeys, as it retrogrades more often than any other planet (3-4x a year). Things may feel liminal and unsettled, especially around the days that our planets station: 11/09 and 11/29 for Mercury, 11/11 for Jupiter, and 11/27 for Saturn. Also, pay attention to the order here: Mercury retrogrades, followed by Jupiter, then Saturn stations direct, followed by Mercury. Altogether, this energy pulls us further into the fallow season of winter.
Mercury
Mercury will retrograde from 06° Sagittarius on 11/09 to 20° Scorpio on 11/29, emphasizing the degrees between 00°-06° of the fire and mutable signs and 20°-29° of the water and fixed signs. I am not going to talk about this extensively here, because I wrote an entire transit report specifically about Mercury’s retrograde, but there are a few things worth noting. Mercury will conjunct both the Sun and Venus during its retrograde, which we can consider business as usual – these three travel close to each other in the skies and always interact during their retrogrades. What is unique is that Mercury will conjunct Mars as well. This puts all of our personal planets in play, further emphasizing this as a retrograde cycle that will impact everybody, not just Mercurial types or those experiencing close transits.
Secondly, Mercury will form a water grand trine with Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Pisces three times over the course of its retrograde, putting it squarely in the cross hairs of both the expansion of Jupiter and the compression of Saturn. This will create some discomfort overall, as Jupiter and Saturn are oppositional forces that, by their very natures, can’t get along. This will create a push-pull effect as Jupiter tries to expand and Saturn tries to contract simultaneously.
The first of these transits occurred over the weekend of 10/24-10/26, and the second will take place on 11/22. We may experience some significant conflicts during this second pass, as it includes all three planets in retrograde.
We should note that during October, Mercury is trine to Jupiter and retrograde Saturn; in November, retrograde Mercury is trine to retrograde Jupiter and retrograde Saturn; and in December, Mercury is trine to retrograde Jupiter and Saturn. Through this process, Mercury moves into and out of retrograde while Jupiter stations retrograde and Saturn stations direct. We can infer from this that, overall, we are moving towards stagnation or a slowing point.
Standard Mercury retrograde advice applies: communication, technology, and travel will be significantly affected; expect disruptions and detours. This is a better time to revise and reassess than to start something new. Save often. Proofread thrice before you hit “Send”. It’s not personal, so don’t personalize it. And yes, have fun. Retrogrades change the planet’s energy; it is wise to adapt your own patterns to work with this energy rather than fight it.

Jupiter in Cancer trine Saturn in Pisces
Water trines sound great until we consider that this one is between Jupiter, the Greater Benefic, and Saturn, the Greater Malefic. This puts us at odds with ourselves and with each other. Jupiter is the planet of luck and expansion, and Saturn is the planet of Strife and Constriction. The two energies cannot “get along”. These two planets will be exactly trine to one another (to the degree) from 11/01 through 11/21, although this square will never go exact due to their retrograde cycles. This will put a lot of stress on all of us. Some of us will want to stop while others want to go. Some will be stuck in a state of inaction as they are unable to choose which of our two outer planets to align with.
On top of this, all of our personal planets and the Sun and Moon will pass across 25° Scorpio this month, completing this water grand trine.
This creates a unique opportunity for all types of watery pursuits, but it will also cause significant emotional strain. With all of the personal planets involved, we can assume this will be inside our houses, metaphorically speaking. This is going to be personal. This might look like one person in a relationship being ready to take it to the next level, while the other is dragging their feet. It could look like one person wanting to go deeper and really express their emotions, while another needs deep solitude. If we get lucky, our Others might align with whatever side of this divide we fall on, but there is no guarantee.
The kicker is this is going to happen over and over again.
Pay attention to these dates:
11/17 – Sun in Scorpio trine Jupiter and Saturn
11/19 – Moon in Scorpio trine Jupiter and Saturn
11/22 – retrograde Mercury in Scorpio trine Jupiter and Saturn
11/26 – Venus in Scorpio trine Jupiter and Saturn
(Of note, Mercury and Mars were part of this water grand trine in October, and Mercury will repeat this trine a third and final time in December)
This looks relationshipy with both Venus and Mars involved, which does imply that we won’t be getting along with our others particularly well during November. And a reminder that this includes all types of relationships, not just big R Relationships. We will likely find ourselves somewhat misaligned with our others in general.
This does represent an opportunity. In a perfect world, we might always want what our others want. This is obviously not a perfect world. The big flex is to approach this with openness, understanding, and honesty. Instead of making assumptions, ask questions. Instead of presuming that others can read your mind, explain yourself. Seek out compromises where you can and understanding where you can’t.
This may have a breakup weather effect on those who are tragically misaligned. Relationships need balance and give-and-take; take note of anyone who isn’t giving an inch during these transits. It may be a sign that they are so caught up in their own shit that they’re shut down, but it could also mean they are not the right person for you. When shit gets tough, we learn who our true friends are.
Overall, this transit will require some realignment. Remember to bend before you break, if you can.
The Lights: The Sun and the Moon
Other than the Sun and Moon’s grand trines with Jupiter and Saturn, we don’t have a lot of transits to talk about this month. We begin the month in secretive Scorpio and end the month in social Sagittarius, signifying the switch from the hollows to the holiday season.
Our Full Moon peaks at 13° Taurus on 11/05. It is a 1/3 full moon.
2 (Taurus moon) + 8 (Scorpio Sun) = 10 = 1+0 = 1.
1 (Taurus Full Moon) + 2 (November 2025) = 3.
“1” is the number of starting over and new beginnings, and “3” is the number of base manifestations. At 13°, this Moon is relatively unaspected. This is a great chance to do all types of Venusian magic, as Venus – the planetary ruler of Taurus, is in one of the signs of its domain (Libra) – giving us access to both the Taurus and Libra sides of Venusian magic.
Our new moon peaks on 11/20 at 28° Scorpio, exactly conjunct to retrograde Mercury – otherwise known as Mercury combust. This is an interior conjunction, meaning that Mercury is between us and the Sun during this transit. This will be a low and dark day, doubly liminal through Scorpio energy and the complete absence of thought and reason brought on by Mercury’s combustion. This is a great day to do dark and hidden things.
It is a 7/9 new moon.
8 (Scorpio moon) + 8 (Scorpio Sun) = 16 = 1+6 = 7.
7 (Scorpio new moon) + 2 (November 2025) = 9.
“7” is the number of expansion and higher experiences, the “guru” number, if you will. “9” is the number of endings and completion. This aligns well with the day’s astrology.
Our Sun enters Sagittarius on 11/21, which will lighten the mood somewhat. Before it enters Sagittarius, it will trine retrograde Saturn in Pisces, oppose retrograde Uranus in Taurus one last time, which could get touchy, and trine retrograde Neptune in Pisces. After it enters Sagittarius, it will sextile Uranus in Aquarius. These won’t be big deal aspects for most people. Those who are being especially pressed by Saturn’s journey across the border between 29° Pisces and 00° Aries are the most likely to notice this shift.
Venus and Mars
Other than Venus’s grand trine with Jupiter and Saturn this month, they aren’t doing much other than creating our general vibes. Mars is very fiery and inconsistent in mutable Sagittarius, expect our general energy levels to fluctuate substantially. Venus is exiled in mutable Scorpio, where she brings a real vindictive side to all social situations. These aren’t a great match, but not the worst, either. The gen pop might be a bit bitey and vindictive, so remember to pack your cool when you can.
Uranus
Retrograde Uranus enters Taurus on 11/07, marking the last leg of its Taurus journey. Uranus in Taurus saw a lot of natural disasters, so we can guess that there might be another uptick in them as Mercury returns to this sign for its last go-around. But that’s beyond us, uncontrollable. So, at the very least, you might want to make sure you have a go-bag packed if you live in an area prone to disasters.
Looking Ahead
December doesn’t look too bad. The big deal bear of the month is that Saturn will be stationing direct, immediately refocusing its energy and attention on 00° Aries.
